Second Grade Space Sketchnotes

The second graders recently read an article about “Exploring Space” in their classes. This week in technology class, they used the Drawing Pad app on our iPads to make a sketchnote that showed what they learned about this question:

“What do people need to live and explore space?”

Here you can see some of the students very intently at work:

Although not everyone was able to complete their sketchnote during our classtime, they did a great job showing what they learned with words and pictures. Here are a few examples of their sketchnotes (click on the thumbnail picture to see the full sketchnote).

The Drawing Pad app is currently available on the app store for $1.99. It is one of my favorite drawing apps for elementary students.

Each student understood the topic that was being taught and key words. The visual pictures told a lot of information.
