As a short fun first project to start the school year (which also reviewed a variety of basic computer skills), the sixth graders created an “iApp” based on their personality and goals for the new year. Here are a few examples of what they created. (I blurred student names according to our school policy because student photos are included.
To do this project, I made a template in Print Shop with the text boxes and titles already blocked in. Students used PhotoBooth and the webcams on our Mac computers to take a photo and then used the tools in Print Shop to size and decorate the photo to look like an app icon.
