Candy Cane Day

The Kindergarten Candy Cane Kids had a great day!  We watched a video entitled “The Candy Maker’s Gift” and read a poem about how a candy cane can remind us of Jesus.  Moms came in to help with stations.  The children made several cute candy cane ornaments varying from stringing beads to make necklaces, gluing pieces together, and following a pattern to make a bead candy cane ornament.  Their special treat of brownies and peppermint ice cream was a hit with most! It was another fun, learning experience in Kindergarten!

Thanksgiving Feast

We had a great Thanksgiving month in Kindergarten.  The students learned about the first Thanksgiving feast and how the new settlers were helped by their Native American friends.  They completed and compiled a beautiful personalized Thanksgiving book to take home as a wonderful keepsake.  On feast day, they made Indian fry bread, homemade butter, turkey centerpieces and had fun throwing corn cob darts through a hoop. They sang, danced, and prayed before eating a delicious feast prepared by the parents.  Happy Thanksgiving to all!
